The British Isles have a varied selection of food and drink, and while nobody would describe it as a famous ‘world cuisine’ who can deny the Brit’s contributions to the world of food and drink ? – the Sandwich, Roast Beef & Yorkshire Pudding, Toad in the Hole… That’s not to say that those contributions have been adopted and improved elsewhere.
In these pages I hope to explain some of the more arecane terms used in British Food… no we don’t use Toads in Toad in the Hole!
